Key terms and requirements for projectors

2022 11/01

1. Brightness

Brightness is the intensity of light (in lumens (lm)) that the projector outputs onto the screen.

2. Projector projection light effect

The ratio of projector light output to power-on power in lumens per watt (lm/W).

3. Power-on status

The status of the projector being connected to power and generating an image.

4. Power on

The active power measured when the projector is powered on.

5. Passive standby state

When the projector is connected to the power supply, neither sound nor image is produced, but it can be switched to the off or on state through the remote control or other external signals.

6. Passive standby power

The active power measured by the projector in passive standby state, this power should be less than or equal to 0.50W.

7. Noise requirements

When the projector is working normally, for products with a mass greater than 2.0kg and less than 5.0kg, the noise should not be higher than 36dBA; for products with a mass less than (including) 2.0kg, or a product with a mass greater than (including) 5.0kg and less than 20kg, The noise should be no higher than 40dBA; for products with mass greater than (including) 20kg, the noise should be no higher than 43dBA.

8. Projector energy saving evaluation value

See Table 1 for the minimum projected light efficiency and energy efficiency levels allowed for energy-efficient projectors.

The minimum projection light efficiency required by the energy-saving evaluation value of the projector is Level 2 of the energy efficiency level in Table 1, and at the same time, it must meet the requirements of the passive standby power limit value, that is, less than or equal to 0.50W.
